A non-steroidal topical for eczema
A plant-derived active in a thermoresponsive nanogel, tested head to head against 1% hydrocortisone in a randomized split-side trial of 30 adults.
The problem
Topical steroids are the first line for eczema, and many of the people who need them are afraid of them: thinning skin, rebound flares, limits on how long a child may use them. For a condition that is often lifelong, the standard treatment is one patients ration.
What we built
A plant-derived active in a thermoresponsive nanogel: fluid in the tube, a thin film on the skin at body temperature. In a randomized split-side trial of 30 adults over six weeks it was non-inferior to 1% hydrocortisone on the erythema index, water loss, hydration and itch, with a single mild, transient adverse event.
Why it matters
A topical with no steroid in it that holds its own against hydrocortisone is a different kind of first line. The results were presented as a poster at EADV 2026.
